IXM are one of the world's leading cobalt traders - a metal in demand thanks to its use in batteries for electric vehicles and portable electronics.

We responsibly source cobalt from mines and refineries worldwide with a particularly strong presence in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) where we have an exclusive offtake agreement with Tenke Fungurume.

Our cobalt business includes other cobalt intermediates and cobalt metal on a spot and long-term basis.

Our cobalt trading desks operate from Geneva and Shanghai - supported by offices in Johannesburg, Westport and Mexico. Our extensive network provides access to a strong customer base, from refiners to OEMs, allowing us to develop long term downstream outlets that underpin value and volume growth.

Tenke Fungurume

CMOC is one of the largest cobalt producers in the world as well as being a leading copper producer. Covering an area of over 1'500 square kilometers, the Tenke Fungurume (TFM) in the DRC is one of the highest grade copper and cobalt mines globally with great prospects for resource exploration and development. TFM adheres to international good practices in sustainability related areas and follows high safety standards.
