We are proud to announce the release of IXM’s 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, highlighting the progress we have made across our Responsible Business commitments and the steps we continue to take to create long-term value for our stakeholders.
As a leading global merchant of metals and minerals, IXM plays an important role in supporting the energy transition. Through our global network, we help connect producers, processors and industrial users, enabling the movement of critical materials that are essential to electrification, renewable energy infrastructure and low-carbon technologies. At the same time, we recognise our responsibility to operate with integrity, promote transparency and contribute positively to the communities and supply chains in which we work.
Key Highlights from the 2025 ESG Report
RESPONSIBLE MINERAL SUPPLY CHAINS
Responsible sourcing remains at the heart of our business. During 2025, IXM sourced materials from more than 40 countries across six continents and screened over 5,900 counterparties as part of our due diligence processes. Enhanced due diligence was conducted on more than 40 existing and prospective assets, while on-the-ground assessments were carried out in key sourcing regions.
A major milestone during the year was the launch of a child labour prevention and remediation programme in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in partnership with local and international organisations. The initiative is designed to address both immediate child protection needs and the long-term drivers of child labour in mining communities, reflecting IXM’s commitment to building more responsible and inclusive mineral supply chains.
IXM also continued to strengthen its due diligence capabilities through the implementation of AI-supported tools, the development of an automated Supplier Asset Database and enhanced supplier capacity-building programmes focused on responsible sourcing standards.
INVESTING IN OUR PEOPLE
Our people remain our greatest strength. In 2025, employee engagement remained strong at 85%, supported by an 84% participation rate in our global employee survey. The results continue to demonstrate the dedication and commitment of our employees around the world.
Learning and development remained a key focus throughout the year. A record 96% of employees participated in at least one training activity, representing more than 9,500 learning hours delivered through 232 training sessions globally. New leadership development programmes, expanded onboarding initiatives and enhanced career development tools were introduced to support employee growth and strengthen leadership capabilities across the organisation.
As a truly global company, IXM continues to benefit from a diverse workforce, with 36 nationalities represented across our offices worldwide and women holding 43% of managerial positions.
HEALTH & SAFETY
The health and safety of our employees and contractors remains a fundamental priority. During 2025, IXM achieved zero Lost Time Incidents (LTI) and completed the year with 569 LTI-free days. Our Callao warehouse also achieved ISO 45001 certification, reflecting the continued strengthening of our health and safety management systems and our commitment to fostering a strong safety culture across our operations.
COMMUNITY WELLBEING
Creating positive impact in the communities where we operate remains a core pillar of our Responsible Business strategy. In 2025, IXM invested a record USD 1.52 million in social impact initiatives, exceeding the previous year’s contribution and supporting projects focused on education, healthcare, environmental protection and economic empowerment.
Among the projects supported were Mercy Ships, helping expand access to healthcare and medical training in West Africa; Congo Children Trust, providing protection, education and economic opportunities in the DRC; and Acción Andina, supporting the restoration of high-Andean ecosystems in Peru and strengthening climate resilience for local communities.
CLIMATE AND ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE
IXM continues to improve transparency around the greenhouse gas emissions associated with the metals and minerals we trade. In 2025, Scope 3 Category 1 emissions decreased from 14.9 million tonnes CO₂e to 6.7 million tonnes CO₂e, while emissions intensity fell from 0.71 to 0.34 tonnes CO₂e per USD 1,000 of revenue.
This reduction reflects continued efforts to improve carbon accounting and data quality through enhanced asset-level emissions reporting. IXM continues to work with specialist partners to improve emissions transparency and provide customers with greater visibility of the carbon footprint associated with the products they purchase.
LOOKING AHEAD
The 2025 ESG Report demonstrates the progress IXM is making across governance, responsible sourcing, people development, community investment and environmental performance. While we recognise that challenges remain, we are encouraged by the momentum achieved over the past year and remain committed to continuously strengthening our approach to Responsible Business.
As expectations continue to evolve across our industry, IXM will continue to build on these foundations, working collaboratively with our employees, customers, suppliers, shareholders and communities to help create more responsible, transparent and sustainable mineral supply chains for the future.
